NichiconSystem EVPower Station with Remote Controller and Ability to Work with Cogeneration Systems
Nichicon Corporation announces the release of the Advanced Function Model of its Vehicle to Home (V2H) system EVPower Station. The product comes standard with an in-room remote controller and a transformer unit for greater convenience and expanded installation possibilities. Users can now remotely control the EVPower Station from indoors and combine the product with a cogeneration system (such as ENE-FARM*1) for a more energy-efficient lifestyle.
Development Background In August 2012, Nichicon released a world first*2 with its V2H system EVPower Station. Market response was enthusiastic, and in October 2013 the company expanded its lineup of EV chargers with the development and release of the Vehicle to Socket model of the EVPower Station to respond to the needs of corporate customers’ BCP (business continuity plan) measures. Nichicon now presents the third stage of the product, the Advanced Function Model, which comes standard with in-room remote controller and a transformer unit that allows combined operation with cogeneration systems.
The Advanced Function Model offers further features and benefits: the in-room remote controller gives control from the comfort of indoors and displays the operational status and other relevant data; a transformer unit allows use in homes powered mainly by electricity (such as all-electric homes), as well as joint operation with cogeneration systems; and the newly developed, easy-to-use lightweight connector and slim cable come as standard equipment.Features - In-room remote controller has large 7-inch LCD touchscreen.
- Can be used with cogeneration systems to provide power during blackouts.
- Transformer unit boosts power supply capabilities.
- Uses a 40% lighter newly developed connector and a 50% lighter slim cable (compared to Nichicon’s previous models).
- Comes standard with silent hood.
- Charges up to twice as fast as a conventional 200-V household power source.
- Waiting for the subsidies offered by the Next Generation Vehicle Promotion Center’s Next-Generation Automobile Infrastructure Promotion Project.
